How to make hemp milk

Hemp milk is easy to make with only two ingredients! Here’s how.

Ingredients

  • Half a cup of hulled hemp seeds
  • Use less water if you want a thicker, more creamy milk!
  • Sea salt, one pinch
  • One whole date pitted ( optional for sweetness // or one Tbsp (15ml) maple sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Use 2 tbsp of cocoa powder or cacao powder to make “chocolate Milk” ( optional).
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup fresh berries for “berry milk” (optional)

Instructions

  • Add the hemp seeds, salt, water, and any other optional ingredients to a blender. Cover the top with a lid or a towel so that it does not splash. Blend for approximately 1 minute or until the mixture appears well-combined.
  • To test the sweetness or flavor, scoop out a small amount of the mixture with a teaspoon. Add more dates, salt, or vanilla as needed.
  • Pour the mixture into a container for serving. It doesn’t really need to be strained, in my opinion. Pour over a large bowl or pitcher that is covered with a Nut Milk Bag or a very thin towel or clean T-shirt if straining.
  • Transfer into a container with a lid and refrigerate. Keeps in the fridge for up to five days (and sometimes more). For best results, enjoy cold and shake well. You can enjoy it straight out of the jar or add it to smoothies. Granola is also delicious.
